The WIP (Work In Progress) group is an informal collection of people. It has no president or other officers. Being on its mailing list is as close as one can get to being a member.
The group began in order to give piano teacher Harry Viar's students a chance to practice performing in front of others in preparation for a yearly student recital. Harry is gone, as are the recitals, but the group continues to provide a safe and welcoming place for people to publicly perform pieces that are works-in-progress. A perfect, polished performance is not required.
The group is not limited to works-in-progress. You are welcome to perform any piece of music that you want to share with others. And while the group consists mostly of piano players playing classical pieces, all instruments and music genres are welcome.
If this sounds like the kind of group you would like to participate in, please contact the WIP organizer to get added to the mailing list. This lets you know when and where WIP gatherings occur. Also, please read the page on attending a WIP gathering.
